Response to Covid-19

UPDATE: Our church campus is still closed for the time being.  Our Church Staff are continuing to work from home primarily, but we are available to meet you at the church if needed during the week. We are still limiting our contact with everyone (include among the staff) and keep everyone safe. We are currently hoping to begin a rolling restart for on-campus church events on June 24th. More information is coming together and it is explained a little better in the video below.

If you need to contact the church office if you have any questions for our church staff.

Update - May 13

Our Church Offices are slowly reopening!  The staff is in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10AM - 2PM, with staff meeting Tuesday at 10AM.  We would love for you to come visit, but at this time we continue to keep social distancing guidelines and prefer you wait until after June 21.

Please contact the church office if you have any questions for our church staff.

UPDATE:  Following direction from the Bishop of the South Georgia Annual Conference we will not resume on-campus gatherings until after June 21.  While we wait for that date, the staff is busy planning and preparing for our Mid-week Gatherings to be held Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall.  This will provide us the opportunity to meet in small groups of nine family units or less and maintain CDC social distancing guidelines, as well as joining in community with our church family.

We will also continue to be in community together online as Kirk and Delisa continue to create an engaging worship experience that is available each week during our regularly scheduled worship time, 10AM. Join us on Facebook or here at Christ church webpage.

We will also continue to BE the church by loving our neighbors and protecting each other. When we practice social distancing, we are protecting those who are most vulnerable. I encourage you all to check on each other regularly. We have a group of volunteers who continue to make sure our at home friends are able to get what they need during this time.  If you need something, please contact the office either by phone or email.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this wilderness, we know who is with us and we have a savior who has been here before. We are thankful for that and thankful for you.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:

  • We will continue to be create online worship experiences. These will be opportunities to continue to worship and grow in faith.

  • Past worship services are also available online. We include the entire service and you can also find our bulletin, and give your offering through our website.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

  • Trust the experts, at the Centers for Disease Control’s website, who encourage:

    • Frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds with warm soapy water.

    • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

    • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve or arm – not your hands.

    • For your well-being and the well-being of others, if you are sick, please stay home and take care of yourself.

  • Keep in touch with family and friends, and contact us if you need assistance.  Our staff will continue to check their individual email (see website for addresses). You may reach us by phone at (478) 922-0211 or email at admin@christunited.net.

  • We will continue to update our website (christunited.net) and our Facebook Page (Christ United).

We are closely monitoring the situation and will follow instructions and recommendations issued by public health authorities or government agencies as needed.

Again thank you for your patience and understanding as we journey through this wilderness season together.
